After careful consideration, we are putting further development of our FlutterFlow Library on hold.
Background
To address the demand for an offline-first solution within the FlutterFlow developer community, we integrated PowerSync via our Flutter SDK. The initial version was developed in close collaboration with users (example), leveraging FlutterFlow’s Custom Actions for PowerSync data handling.
Following the launch of FlutterFlow Libraries, we quickly released the PowerSync FlutterFlow Library, which drastically simplified the configuration required for PowerSync. We published this library free of charge to maximize adoption.
Further development put on hold
Unfortunately the integration has a relatively high maintenance burden on our team and we are not seeing sufficient adoption to justify the required time investment. We have therefore decided to pause further development on the FlutterFlow integration and re-evaluate our future plans for FlutterFlow users.
What’s changing?
- We’ve published our last update to the Library, which contains a notice saying that the Library is no longer actively maintained.
- We’ve delisted our FlutterFlow integration guides from our docs.
What’s not changing?
- We won’t unpublish the Library until we have more clarity on our future plans. This means that you can continue using the Library in your project.
- We are keeping the #flutterflow channel on our Discord open for the community to use.
- The integration guide is still accessible using a direct URL.
Your existing projects continue to work: You can continue to use the Library in your projects, access the documentation, and receive support from our team via Discord, while we figure out a path forward.
We remain committed to the Flutter ecosystem
Please note that this decision applies only to the FlutterFlow integration. Our Flutter SDK remains one of our flagship SDKs, and we are continuing to actively develop and support it.
